Here are some web designing tips I found which is helpful for web design and development:
1. Use relative font sizes in web pages.
2. Use CSS Image replacement for submit buttons.
3. Optimization of JPEG images: good quality and small size.
4. Select a color scheme and stick to it.
5. Use templates.
6. Provide an easy to use navigation system.
7. Don’t go overboard on special effects.
8. Site Map & Search Feature.
